Janet is interested in the degrading of materials over time. She has been creating a body of work since completing a two year part time Contemporary Art Practice course at Leith School of Art. It was while  at Leith School of Art that she began to explore her family archive looking at objects, ornaments and textiles which hold memories and meaning for her

Dust is an archive.

What story is to be told through dust?

A personal one.

Particles of dust caught in the sunlight of a doorway.

Transient.

Ephemeral.

A shelf.

Within touching distance but not to be touched.

A reminder of the past but present for all to see.

Dust is but the beginning.

Dust is political.

Dust is us.
