Janet Melrose RSW

Janet is interested in the degrading of materials over time and how environments are reclaimed by nature. She works with materials from reclamation yards and recycling centres  at textiles and ornaments which hold  childhood memories for her. She is currently working on a body of work ‘Dust is an Archive, which looks at the effect on objects and the wider environment of Dust. She is looking at Museum collections and the work of Curators to see the impact of dust on textiles and other artefacts.
