James McDonald RSW

After completing a post-graduate year at Edinburgh College of Art in 1979, I worked as a printmaker & part-time lecturer until around 1986 when I took up painting full-time from a studio in Glasgow’s Gallowgate.

Since then, I have exhibited my paintings and prints widely at home and abroad, in numerous solo and mixed exhibitions.

In the last few years I have published three limited-edition Artist Books; “Intaglio Shores”, “Outsider”, “Darkness Has Its Uses” (“The best descriptions of printmaking I have ever read”, Clare Henry) and “Girl and Asteroid”, published by Nine Muses.

My new book, “PRIVATE VIEWS” is published in October 2023. An illustrated A5 hardback of some 215 pages, further information can be found at my website www.jamesmcdonald.site or by Email at jhmcd@hotmail.co.uk.
