Artists Statement
Living in Kilcreggan on the River Clyde I have extensive views of the surrounding area, Lochs, Hills and Coastal Edges. Much of my subject matter is drawn from this area. Variations in weather, colour, atmosphere, shape and texture forming compositional elements. Although I work in oil and watercolour, my recent development of etching has been most rewarding.
Biography
1962-1967 - Edinburgh College of Art, studied drawing and painting with Robin Philipson and James Cumming. Post-Graduate scholarship to Italy. Exhibits in principle galleries and annual exhibitions in Scotland and London. Member of Society of Scottish Artists 1972-1997. Member of Glasgow Group. Extensive private collections.
