Artists Statement

I seek to bring life to inanimate objects in a variety of mediums. Personal poems are juxtaposed to create watercolour fluidity. I typically transfer images from thumb-nail sketches to completed paintings. I also create spatial ambiguity with the use of strong, meaningful, pattern and decoration as common themes in a symbolic language

Biography

My nationality is British/Scottish
1965-70 - Gray's School of Art (RGIT/RGU) Aberdeen studied Fine Art including post diploma scholarship (High commend)
1970 - 71 - Certificate in Art Education, Aberdeen College of Education including educational survey of Shetland
1972 - 76 - Open University Batchelor of Arts degree (Art History and Humanities)
1997 - Exhibition at Peacock Printmakers, Aberdeen/ drawings and paintings
1999 and 2010 - Stonehaven Riverside Gallery/ paintings drawings and printmaking
2003 - Peacock Visual arts exhibition of relief printmaking
2013 - Aberdeen The Rendezvous Gallery exhibition of watercolours and paintings
2000 - to present regular exhibitor at RSW exhibitions in Scotland

Awards

1971 - Travel Scholarship, Scottish Education Department
Visit to Italy, Greece and Turkey including study at the annex of Athens Art School on the Island of Hydra.
