Artists Statement
Liz Murray works mainly in mixed media. 'My work is primarily about secrets: hidden layers, torn fragments, glimpsed edges of dreams. Processes of change, taking apart and re-assembling...folding, tearing, stiching, binding, wrapping...have increasingly influenced and directed the nature of my paintings'.
Biography
Liz Murray studied Drawing and Painting at Duncan Jordanstone, Dundee (1961-1965). She continued to paint and exhibit whilst teaching and bringing up a family in the West of Scotland. Now retired to Fife where she enjoys painting, gardening and writing poetry.
