My work is currently about; Concealment, Revelation, Creativity, Travelling, Exploring, Illusionnism, Composition, Deception, Surface, discovery, Texture, Excitement, Arrangement, Old, Quality, Doubt, Simplicity, Exploration, Dark, Abstraction, Art, Colour, Accuracy, Serendipity, Mystery, Worn, Control, Destruction, New, Watercolour, Exasperation, Conservation, perspiration, Looking, Refined, Symbolic, Seeing, Interior, Levels, Playfulness, Drawing, Reducing, Calm, Light, Contemplation, History, Reverence, Shadows, Truth, Complexity, Experimentation, Openings, Form, Reactive, Enjoyment, Archive, Doors, Visual, Iconic, Recognition, Window, Nature, Incongruity, Layers, Ambiguity, Contradiction, Silence, but not necessarily all at once.
Biography
I went to Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art in Dundee and did a degree in Fine Art followed by a Post Graduate Degree in Fine Art. I then achieved a Post Graduate certificate in Secondary Education at Aberdeen’s Northern College, gaining a distinction. It was then I was approached to do some part-time teaching at Dundee College (2 days), leaving the rest of my week for painting.
