Artists Statement

My work is a response to, rather than a depiction of place and time. Sources include land, sea and weather. Recent work has examined how digital technologies can lead to new visual, physical, and digital forms of drawing and print. Working methods embrace the processes of translation and transformation, as a core characteristic of drawing and digital dialogue, through freehand drawing, digital photography and the use of specific computer software. The resulting work would not be possible through conventional two-dimensional haptic or drawing methods alone.

David has held a number of senior lecturing posts within Gray's, including Deputy Head of School and Course Leader at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
