Artists Statement

For me painting represents a poetic means of revisiting and exploring often overpowering visions and dreams. I find the succulence and brilliance of waterbased paints, their immediacy and ability to combine successfully with collage, offers the flexibility I seek.

Biography

Art education - Edinburgh College of Art, Hornsey College of Art, London. Masters Degree, Edinburgh University. Became a printmaker, painter and teacher (especially drawing and anatomy) and Visiting Professor in art schools in over 16 countries. Frequent visitor to India, Japan, South East Asia and USA. Retired Director of Summer School, Edinburgh College of Art and currently Visiting Professor, Art Department, University of Central Florida.
